This pattern is aka Brassie. For such a simple pattern, it can really move big fish. This was the go-to fly back in the day before the Serendipity came along. This is a pattern that you don’t hear about much anymore, but that does not mean it should not be fished. As more and more fishermen get away from some of the old patterns, it bodes well for those of us who do use them. Fish become educated as they are hooked by the same pattern over and over again.
